And the Gods Looked Down...As the Gods looked down, gleaming mantles blotted across the sky. Watchful for all time, infinite knowledge theirs alone. And still I knew we were doomed from the very beginning. My childhood spins in hazy memory all around me. All of my senses overloaded, shattered by the power that emanates from within. Fingertips that burn with every pulse. Breathing was no longer natural and became more painful with every breath; my own rib cage squeezing the air out of my lungs. I am a prisoner in my own body. It would be bearable, perhaps, if I could control it. So this is it. This is what our precious Gods chose for me. A life of death. NoAnd the Gods Looked Down...
